The Gothic church of St. Francis in Piediluco is the last stage of the Way in Umbria, where the first section of the Lazio part of the  Way begins, dedicated entirely to the presence of St. Francis in the Holy Valley of Rieti. The route is a ring and is made up of 5 stages: the Saint Francis Beech in Rivodutri, the Holy Cave and Sanctuary of St. James in Poggio  Bustone, the Sanctuary of The Forest in Rieti, Rieti Cathedral, the Sanctuary of Fontecolombo, The Nativity of Greccio. From Poggio Bustone you can take a detour to reach the Votive Temple for San Francisco on the nearby mountain Terminillo (stage no. 5), highly recommended for the summer, but for winter too as long as you are equipped for snow, then back on the primary path.
