Road signs
Signs are metal and yellow and blue, and they include the following:
- “La Via di Roma” logo with the dual key and the dome of St. Peter and the logo “La Via Francigena di San Francesco” with St. Francis embracing the stars in the sky and the birds,
- the distance in kilometres from where you are to Rome,
- the direction and distance in kilometres from where you are to the nearest church.
Signposting in the footpaths
Signs are metal and yellow and blue, and they include the following:

Horizontal Markings
these are yellow and blue stamps printed on city streets with:
- “La Via di Roma” logo with the dual key and the dome of St. Peter and the logo “La Via Francigena di San Francesco” with St. Francis embracing the stars in the sky and the birds.
Identifying Signs
Outside the churches and monuments of The Via Francigena of St. Francis, there are yellow and blue metal billboards that include the following information:
- “La Via di Roma” logo with the dual key and the dome of St. Peter and the logo “La Via Francigena di San Francesco” with St. Francis embracing the stars in the sky and the birds,
- the path of the Umbria-Lazio route with a North orientation,
- a photo of the church, with the bilingual description of the recommended visit,the layout of a part of the route near the place where you are, with a preview photo of the churches you could visit,
- the website address of the route,
- logos of project partners.
